 We come from.......            a generation where the major offenses wereplaying hooky, chewing gum in class, and smoking in the boys room (these were the really bad guys). Disruptive students could be paddled and they got even worse when they went home with a note. Respect wasn't taught - it was expected! That is why most of us were totally unprepared for the new freedoms of the 60's.
To be honest, we were not paying a lot of attention to the safety needs of schools until just a few years ago when a bus in Cherokee County Alabama came under gunfire in a remote area.  The driver was totally on his own with no 2-way radio and in an area of poor cellular coverage.   Fortunately, there were no fatalities and within just months, all the buses in the county were equiped with an airtime free 2-way radio system.

We learned that the purchase of bus communications equipment could be totally funded under the transportation budget in Alabama and presumably in other states as well.  We learned that Title V money could be used to acquire in-school communications systems and that no less than fifty corporate endowment grants were available in our area with even more nationally.  Federal assistance grants of all types proved to be an additional source of funding.  The bottom line is that there is a need for improved safety in buses and in schools.  The money is there to pay for it and we've made it our business to provide the technology and financial resources necessary to make your buses and schools safer for students and staff.
